The Knot Couture Spring 2019 was everything and more than I could have imagined. It was such a honor to be asked to design this space for The Knot in New York City. The Spring show is a wonderful event because the city is coming to life in both excitement and in nature!
I Must Have Flowers
Metropolitan Pavilion is a fantastic work space because of it’s large blank canvas walls and square footage for all of the vendors. Due to all of the white space, turning this space into a spring wonderland was easy! I designed the space with intention to make the most of the spaces; registration, refreshments, lounge etc. I partnered with some of the best to bring to you my favorite paper flower event to date! Below I’ll explain a little more for each photo.
In Full Bloom
Incredible Vendors:
Canvas HQ, Michelle Edgemont Designs, RentQuest NYC, Popt, Bombshell Graphics, Bojan Hohnjec Studio and my amazing team from A Girl and Her Glitter (Brittany, Jenn & Stephanie).
Below is my first collaboration with Canvas HQ with this huge graphic canvas that was larger than life/ amazing! This canvas backdrop is what dreams are made of, the quality that owner, Kristy, and her team provides is out of this world. You can see I added on these paper blooms to make the wording pop and this was the very first thing you can see when you walk in.
In order to bring the attention to the other side of the space, I created these blossoms to bloom against the wall and bring the attention to this part of the front lobby. The stems are long pieces of vinyl that I cut, applied an adhesive spray and spray painted in my desired colors. I then rolled up each one, and flew them in my suitcase to NYC from Florida and applied to the walls directly.
The reason for that attention to be brought over into this connecting space was for these refreshments for the attendees! These treats by Popt were so delicious, the home made pop tarts were even created to match the decor!
Anything I could put a label on, I did! These acrylic chairs were no exception.
You can see the entire front space in this spot and how were were able to tie in this space with registration through these paper florals.
Hands down, my favorite piece was The Knot Couture logo! The logo is 8′ in diameter and the piece was over 16′ total in the end from top to bottom.
Michelle Edgemont Design did a fantastic job with the florals too!
