Kid’s Bathroom X-Wing DIY

The force is strong in this kid’s bathroom with this focal point! Using our love for Star Wars we wanted to create a subtle tribute to the films using plaster. We selected the X-Wing silicone mold and immediately saw the potential of creating this faux cement tile look!

PLASTER: First thing is first, we needed to find the right plaster for these molds. After reading all of the reviews, THIS PLASTER was perfect. It did not disappoint!

MOLD: Out of all the Star Wars themed molds, the X Wing lent the most imagination for us to use to create a faux cement tile. This silicone mold was great, each mold has six shapes that are the same. We bought five sets so that we could have more, faster. Now we can make chocolate in them now… after we wash them. All of these were glued onto a scrap piece of ply wood and THEN attached to the wall for easy removal. We did the same thing here with the Beverage Station.

SPRAY PAINT: The kids wanted color and I gave it to them! Using what I had on hand, we went with this ombre effect using Rustoleum all in matte finish. Glossy would have been fine but I prefer matte so that the light absorbs on the object. We used colors; Satin Lagoon, Vintage Teal and Robin’s Egg.

STYLING: This adorable planter and faux seeded eucalyptus was purchased at Michaels. The glass tray with black trim was also from Michaels. The tray is filled with products that are a MUST in the bathroom and all from Target; candle, colorful matches, Room spray.

This little print was from the internet, basket, plant and reed diffuser are all from target too! Remember to use the force for good!
