Haven is a conference for DIY, home decor bloggers and home decor/home improvement influencers. I wasn’t sure I was going to fit in and actually I didn’t at first. Crafting and designing have been a huge passion of mine, even back before I knew it was. Now that I am older and have a home of my own I find myself spending more time there and working to make it our home. Then, I came across the Haven Conference.
My Ticket In
While exploring possible adventures I could go on for work, always for work, I found the Haven conference and SOMETHING caught my eye about it. When I designed the restaurant spaces for Bravo’s Top Chef, I also realized that I was able to do design for more than just events. It was then that I realized my event design was interchangeable for home design. Wanting to showcase something from AGAHG I asked the conference leader, Kristin (great name) if I could bring a feature wall for the event. She was thrilled and said yes!
The Great Wall of… Haven
This was a busy week and I was able to drive up the weekend before Haven and assemble this with my buddy JJR who is from Man About Cake and thankfully lives in Atlanta. We built the wall in a ballroom using ply wood, aluminum braces that my husband custom made and the base was on casters for it to move around easily.
So many new faces!
All of the beautiful faces that graced this feature wall made it absolutely stunning. I loved seeing all of these new faces and even found my “tribe” after the Home Depot Orange Tank Competition (that I was thrilled to win!) and a morning full of rejection. This wall brought me closer to everyone that took a photo with it, and now I can’t wait to dream up something new for next year!
