If you don’t already know, A Girl and Her Glitter loves The Knot. We have had many partnerships through the years and we are very grateful for them. Their brand, their people and what this company provides for the wedding industry is simply the best. Each year the Knot hosts The Knot Market Mixer where vendors can come together to mingle. Vendors gather to let loose and learn even more about how and what The Knot is doing to push through and improve the wedding industry (for both clients and vendors). These mixers are so much fun and each year someone is selected to design and plan these awesome events. This was our year.
The Neon Idea
After attending last year’s market mixer, we thought we would love to showcase for The Knot and for our peers. It all started with a an idea to have people really come together and step into a carefree zone. Being in the Event Design world, it is easy to not make time to simply slow down and enjoy yourself. Wedding vendors are always busy making their client’s dreams come true. Having the idea to not only let people relax but we also wanted more, we wanted to bring out the kid in all of them. We wanted people to leave their everyday lives, the hustle and bustle, and ask them to come live in color with us and The Knot.
The Dream Team
Knowing that we love design but planning out the coordination is not something we specialize in, The Knot found the most amazing wedding planner to spearhead the mixer, Bella Sposa Events, run by Jennifer Lopez. Together, we aligned ourselves with the best of the best. We call rallied together to bring Central Florida something it hasn’t seen yet.

Bold, Bright and Vibrant
These guests have seen it all, pushing the limits was a must. We wanted to throw curve balls all through out the event starting with the check-in cocktail hour. Having an electric violinist greet guests as they arrived with bright and bold colors through florals. Detailing on the hand rails, gorgeous luxe linens, and a massive wrap around bar where you could grab a beverage while you met your peers and checking in were just some of the fun. All of the signage was custom and made with intention for each area. These were a personal favorite of AGAHG.
LOVING these pops of neon on the planters as well as the “Live in Color” backdrop, all painted using Rustoleum neon spray paint.
Bright, Flashing… Lights!
Upon entering the inside of the venue, guests were greeted immediately with vinyl cut out wordings to give them a sneak peak into what was to come. Neon colors were so bright, the black lights made everything glow! We added so many UV elements (some of us even wore them!) that attendees could not help but smile. From the massive amounts of delicious food to drinks that literally lit up the night… we had to top it all off with our ball pit photo booth! Guests were invited into the acrylic surround and lay down, face up and say “cheese!” Neon tube lighting had words and shapes of playfulness through out the event that paired beautifully with all of the glow furniture pieces.
We sectioned off the room into many areas but made sure they did not see completely separate. Wanting to get people through to the entire space, we had all of the desserts toward the farthest end of the venue. Having a 16′ display of every dessert you could think of, cupcakes, photo booth prop cookies, cake pops, donuts, macaroons and even smores. We definitely had out guests wanting to explore. We paired this decedent table with nitrogen ice cream… can you tell we have sweet teeth and not just one tooth?! Guests had a stationary food bar and this allowed for everyone to get their hands on the savory goodies as well as many passed appetizers.
Everyone ended up on the glowing dance floor that was made up of 54″ white wide vinyl stripes that were then hand painted with UV reactant paint. In between the thick stripes we laid down narrow tape that created visual depth only breaking to add The Knot logo in various spots. The DJ booth was center of attention and placed smack in the middle of the dance floor. Hanging geo panels made for a super modern feel that grounded the booth.
We absolutely love our Cricut and custom cut these vinyl wordings throughout the event. It was a great way to have some cheeky fun and it was so easy to do! To see even more Cricut projects we create, follow the Cricut blog and look for “A Girl and Her Glitter.”
To say this party was a glowing success is an understatement. This event was only a success because the vendors who presented their all for The Knot Market Mixer. We are especially grateful for Bella Sposa events and their great attention to detail, their in depth dedication to our partnership turned friendship.
