Galentine’s Day

When you think of Galentine’s day you think of cute young singles who are just living it up with a glass of rose and having pillow fights in cute pajamas. The trend of Galentine’s day was all I could see at stores and online and I wanted to create something of just a bit more substance. So, I decided to create my own Galentine’s day shoot celebrating two amazingly inspiring singles that I hold near to me heart, my two widowed grandmothers.

Heavenly Valentines

If my grandmothers, Rose and Grace, had it their way their valentines would still be present today. Heaven has two incredible men, Frederick (since 2009) and William (2016), yet left their hearts behind with my grandmas to keep them warm. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate how much they will always love their Valentines than with a Galentine’s day shoot with each other. They didn’t choose to celebrate Galentine’s Day but we are celebrating along with them. Our family is beyond blessed to have these two incredible women to lead our families in the examples of what it looks like to love someone until “death do us part.”

Putting the Gals in Galentine’s Day!

Using my Cricut Maker I whipped up the shirts you’ll see below and wanted to add extra fun by adding in all of the great grand daughters (and eventually the boys), my mom and my sister in law to the mix. We posed, cried, laughed and chased kids around for a great amount of time and then broke out the sweets. This was a fun day that was captured with love and respect to these two living examples of great love to our family. From the great Grandma’s to the littlest great grand babies, enjoy!
