Embellished Paper Flower

Each paper flower is unique from the rest. This one is no different. When thinking of this flower, it comes across half wax flower and half anemone. Simple petals paired with the textured center and added special pop of 3d is something very unique. You can make there with other kinds or cluster them to create a beautiful bouquet. No matter how you choose to use these embellished paper flowers, they are sure to have people talking!

Everything you need to create this flower can be found at Michaels craft stores.

Card Stock

Writing utensil

Scissors

Hot Glue/Gun

Styrofoam balls

How to make paper flowersStart with a single piece of 65lb card stock and fold in half. Draw out a heart shape that as no point at the bottom. Cut out the shape (since the paper is folded over, you will be cutting two at a time). Repeat many times if you are making multiples.

Paper flower petalsCut a small slit at the base of the cut out petals. Add hot glue to one side of the cut paper. Take the other side and cross over the middle and hold into place over the glue. Add glue along the base of cooled off petal.

DIY paper flowersTaking another finished petal hold into place another onto the bottom of the petal. Add hot glue to the bottom side and add remaining petals to give you a total of four.

Paper flowers assemblyYou can make your own center or use this one I cut with my Cricut. Pre paint the styrofoam ball any color using spray paint or acrylic. Take the four petaled flower and add the textured center. Adding glue to the center, add on the styrofoam. Hold into place and wait until cooled.

Ingredients

  • Card Stock
  • Writing Utensil
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue/Gun
  • Styrofoam balls
